So , i was sitting at my Cintiq and just doodling, and my son started watchin Disney's Hercules(one of my favorites artistically) and i heard the line when the angry characters were talking to Herc earth dad, and his name was Anfitrion, and i was like "DOPE NAME, i should draw my version of that name"...and this is what came to be, HOPE YOU LIKES it was definitely fun.

OMG! I feel like i haven't uploaded anything particular in a while. Well here is a commission that is one of like 12 that i have to finish, and i finally have time to do so, so this is the beginning of my day.

So the requester wanted to see me do some of the old monsters with some liberties, and this is what they will get. I added some little things in Photoshop, but this is an all Marker piece, so it was kinda scary to work on as i just kept getting this feeling that i was gonna screw it up somewhere along the way, lol.

The piece is pretty large too, its about 17 x 24, so yeah, took me all morning to get this one done, about 8 hours all together. More to come, as more commissions are due.

Theres like 35 different versions of this damn team, and you can go ahead and add the latest FURRY rendition to this collection of awesome, lol.

Its actually in between a sketch, and a finished piece. I didnt have enough time to really work the lines and details the way i wanted to, but i found some time to play with some effects to make it a little more ZESTY!

So, bear with me for a minute here.... well not that long actually, i gotta get back to work, but, check it...

So i got this idea a little while ago to do SpiderMan in a COMPLETELY different way, this design came to mind when i did the Xmen Dreams, but i hadnt been able to imagine something for the look, until now.

Her name is Piet, she is French, she is one of the premier Parkour's on the PLANET, and it just so happens that her last name is Parkour.

Just having fun, i have a more defined development sheet for her, but that is being saved for the sketchbook, PEACE!

WHy is it called that, well because it was a 15 minute drawing of something CLOSE to the Avatar guys. i wanted to try to capture their essence during 15 minutes of my lunch break at work. Its on 8.5x11, so it wasnt hard to do it in 15 at all, i will be doing more like this in the future.

On that note, im almost done with my 9-5, 2.5 more weeks, and its OFF TO CALI and its pretty exciting, i love it and all, but the idea of doing art for a living makes me HAPPY!

So this is another of the LOST commission pieces that i just found and am sending out. This one is for aliwildgoose.deviantart.com, she wanted me to so Jet and Zuko from Avatar, and i have seen maybe one full episode of that show, so i had no idea, and there aren't a lot of good online pictures of these guys (at least good for me) so this one was kinda go with what you have and have fun type of piece, and that's what i did, ENJOY!

This is a commission RE:DO for a guy on Deviantart named "chobiwan", i did one for him that got either stolen, or lost by the mailman, or whatever, i needed to do him another.

This was done with brush, Copic, Chalk White Pen (for BRIGHT WHITES!! White Prismacolor pencil for fades, and Sand Paper for some of the glow effect (new technique) and aimed my desk light for the light direction, picture taken on my iPhone 3GS for test, and im pretty impressed.

Things have BEEN CRAZY on my end prepping for the move, and i found myself feeling tired and exhausted, but im now rejuvenated, and will be sending out the commissions that i have owed people for a while...this being one of them.

Still finishing up my run with Wizards of the Coast, and hopefully i can update you guys when its all said and done.

Oh and Sam Liu, this is not the one that i wanted to show you, i;ll have to show you that one when im in LA, lol.

Here is a digital experiment with my original character named simply HIM. Wanted to try tto do it completely digital, and also mess around with certain functions like copying and pasting with the ninja's to see if it could be pulled off, and still look authentic, i feel okay with it, more to try, but not bad for a first try though.

So teaching at a school today, and this being my last few weeks at the schools that i go and teach at, i decided to ask all of the teachers that i have worked for over the last 6 years for a shirt from each of their respective schools.

One teacher in particular turned out to be a HUGE Captain America fan, and asked me if we could make it a trade, a shirt for a commission...well, who was i to say no.

He liked my Profile shot of captain that i had on my blog, and asked me if i could do something like that but a little bigger, and close up, and this is it. I love my job, and will definitely miss it, i have been speaking to High Schoolers for the last 6 years, and have impacted, and been impacted by so many of them.

And although im going on to my dream job, the Blessing that this job has been to me will always be something that i thank God for.

Done with Prisma, paintbrush, white and black paint, a Copic's for the red, blue and skin color, PEACE!

Moving to LA

So i can finally announce it, IM MOVING TO LA!

Its been a long work in process, but my wife and i have finally made the right moves, and decided to make the move to LA. This has been a dream of ours since our wedding day, we have always felt a connection to LA, and with its art scene, and the opportunities that it represents for the both of us, we finally got enough things to fall in place to make it happen.

As far as settling in i need to take time to thank from the bottom of my heart Sean Galloway and Lesean Thomas for their willingness to help make this transition easier for me, and really pulling me under their wings, and helping me with so much. I look up to these guys artistically and personally for so many things, and this is just another reason why i owe them so much. They have and are continuing to help me with the move, and getting me connected with the LA vibe, so i thank them sincerely.

Now as good as this news is, its also stressful because the move is happening so fast, we are leaving Chicago July 28th of this year, so we have mad packing to do, and tons of going away parties to attend, lol. What this also means is that with the transition, i wont be able to make it to Wizard World Chicago this year either, with all the transition taking place, it would be too much to try to come back right as we are settling in, so we decided that it would be best for me pass it up.

My table in Artist alley will still be occupied by my "INTRODUCING" family, with none other than www.robaato.deviantart.com sitting in my place. and my brother www.jusdog.deviantart.com will also be there too. SO! Thats whats been up, i will be releasing more information on my current projects as soon as i can, but know that Chicago is always home, i will miss it dearly, and in fact am creating a painting series dedicated to this beautiful Nirvana that has for so long allowed me to soak up its culture, and help define me as the person i am today. For the people here, i dedicate this move to you all, and know that my goal is to brighten the marquee with all that this city and its people have given me.

This piece is a SUperman caricature that i did with some markers white out and, paper...i guess, lol. Just fun with some traditional mediums, more to come from that direction soon as i am really enjoying playing around with the traditional mediums right now, and full intent on carrying that on.

And the other is a piece that i did as an Ode to Joe Madureira. That cat is just as responsible, if not more, as any other artist out there that has inspired me. I remember when i first got Battle Chasers #1, and being FLOORED! Everything about it was what i wanted to do with my art, plain and simple. As time progressed, i found other artist that motivated me in the similar way, but not nearly to the same extent as Joe.

SO this is a piece that will stand as a thanks for it all to Joe. ENJOY!

Well, i love coloring alot, and the more that i lear, and establish a style for myself, the more i want to do it, so, theres the backdrop for that one.

With that, here is a Lone Wolf and Cub piece done by the AMAZING Leinil Yu. I should say that i found the Inked version here on DA inked by www.beroleagle.deviantart.com who did a pretty stellar job if i might say so myself.

Yeah i still have a lot to learn, and i know that theres alot that i could do with this one, which i will do, and mybe post it, but i was so excited to share it that i didnt bother to do those things, lol.

Umm, yeah this took about 3 hours, and i used Photoshop CS, OpenCanvas, and PAINTER (lots-o-programs, lol).

SOOOOO WASSUP FOLKS!

Aight so this is one of my many drawings that i have been doing in my spare time as a sort of REST FROM WORK/ and EXERCISE!

I have been returning to my old style where i simply did what i liked and really escaped the thresholds of what i thought was effective and would make me happy. In the end i know what it is that i want to go for and its the simple stuff with my own flair in it, "NAM SAYIN"!

This came as i was watching a Pokemon marathon the other day, and i was like i wonder how cool they would look with different proportions and a little age (unlike my Naruto piece which was accidental age adding, lol) this was added on purpose.

So this is the first in (I BELIEVE) will be a few more pieces, including Bleach, and DEFINITELY a new NARUTO and Champloo piece, and who knows what else is hitting me that day when i decide to do that THING.

One thing is for certain, IM BACK HEFFAS, and im really liking where its going, and progressing towards, HOLLA BACK and N-JOI!

Whats up people, finally a little update as to what has been going down in the house of LOVE, lol. Well, after some AMAZINGLY cold weather here in the city of wind, my wife and i experienced the most CRAZY Valentines Day pre-week.

It started when our water pipes froze throughout the entire house thus rendering anything in our house that involved water, USELESS. And then as if that werent enough, the piped EXPLODED sending freezing cold water through the pipes and onto the floor of our laundry room. So we spent about a week without water, in a freezing cold house, going back and fourth to my in-laws house taking showers and washing clothes.

And with all of that we also were cold because the windows in our house are old and a freezing breeze constantly shoots through every crevice in our house, except for upstair where i moved my office finally because downstairs in my office it was 10 degrees, yeah and i cant draw in those conditions, lol.

Well, after all of that drama, we spoke to our landlord who agreed to let us break our lease and thus we started to look for a New BETTER place, and we found a few, oh yeah all of this as im trying to GET MY SAMPLES DONE FOR NEW YORK! AHHHHHH! It was crazy, but on Valentines day we got to go and spend a couple of days in a nice hotel and relax, so getting back to the samples after that was a breeze, now im all ready (almost, at least) and SUPER EXCITED about getting out to NY with my bro and a couple of our friends, its my first time and i dont know what to expect in the Second City, tee hee.

Just to keep you guys going i got some art, I hope you enjoy, nothing major, just a coloring of HIM that i did. yeah i know i need to practice more of my coloring skills, and thats what this is, AIGHT PEACE!

Yeah so right now i am in the process of developing my HIM comic, which i will be trying to pitch this year at each Con that i go to, you know we'll see where that goes. And im also just recently signed onto the next Low Orbit anthology, so be on the lookout for that as well.

Yeah at the end of 06 i predicted that 07 was the year of my DAWNING, and i really feel that coming on, im TOO EXCITED.

Also on a different note, i dropped that last project that i was working on, so no more Japanese family story from me you guys. Im also in the process of working on a sketchbook project with my Brother Jusdog at Deviantart, and my HOMIE Kizer180 at Deviantart, go check them out, and be on the lookout for that at your local COnvention and Comic shop, AIGHT!

Update "NUMERO UNO"

Things are GREAT! I finally got some work going after a little PAUSE in PRODUCTION. Thats actually a good thing seeing that my wife is now pregnant, i guess God has some great timing (good lookin out yo). YEAH thats right i got a little one on the way, IM SO HAPPY! I want to start doing a series of art kinda depicting what things i feel in response to the reality of having a child, i WANT to do that, we'll see what happens in the upcoming weeks.

I was seriously on the brink of applying at McDonalds for a JOB (seeing that i applied EVERYWHERE else already and no one retunred a single phone call, s'all good though) not that McDonalds is bad or anything, but with the kid on the way and trying to BREAK IN, working anything in that arena would force me to have to do some MAD hours in order to pay off anything, so it was definitely last on my list.

Ummm as far as the project that im working on, i gotta keep some of the information SECRET, but i can show an image of it, to the left you will see the image that the story is focused around, i will have more updates as the project has more of a FLASHY consistency.

Aight so i know what some of y'all are thinking right now, "WHY YOU GOT A BLOG!? You aint doin nothin right now!", and more than likely..........YOU'RE WRONG! HAHA! There are some little things (industry things that is) that im working on that i gotta keep hush hush about, but hopefully i will be able to talk more about when the time is right.
Yes i will be posting things here that i will not post on DA, and the reason for it is simple, i want to use this as a learning ground, and also as more of a "How I Do" type of thing, and alot less of a "LOOKATME!" type of thing. There are several reasons as to why i have a Blogspot, but i will spare you all of them and only share 3 of em.

A) Its ABSOLUTELY FREE! I mean come on, its like when i first stumbled upon DA, it gives me the ability to step out in a NEW and different way, and the luster of other things on DA dont lure you in, only my work so its somewhat of a scale to see how i look in the eyes of you guys, which is pretty cool too. And i mean REALLY, who doesnt have a blog nowadays, CAN I EAT TOO?!?!

B) Its kinda cool to have a space thats all my own, and allows me to do/say things in a way and give you guys more of a look into what my process is, how i like to work, and why i like to do certain things in certain ways. Its my own Gallery, i can do whatever i want, and i dont give a damn who sees it, HAHAHAHAHA!

C) To sort of serve as a portfolio other than DA. This makes it easier for people to simply see the things that i have instead of having to CLICK this button or CLICK that , you can spare yourself the time and come on by and simply SEE. As far as comparisons to DA, its kinda like living at home and having your own room , and then moving out to have your own apartment (and your own house would be a website, i aint there yet, lol).

So there you go, heres to hoping to have some fun and help each other in AMAZING ways, i hope you guys feel at home here, and are ready to BOOGIE, cause i am, FO SHO!
